The Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project is the opportunity for a Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community. This is the culmination of the Eagle Scout candidate's leadership training and requires a significant effort. The project must benefit an organization other than the BSA, but it cannot be performed for an individual or a business, cannot be solely a fund-raising project, and cannot be a commercial effort.
Northwest Scouters recognizes the importance of the Eagle Scout Service Project and has established the Eagle Scout Project Program to help promote the success of the Eagle Scout Service Projects. This Northwest Scouters program is designed to assist a Life Scout with donations and fundraising for their Eagle Scout Service Project. Many organization or individuals making donations to an Eagle Scout Service Project need a "tax deduction receipt" for the materials or funds dontated. Since many scouts do not have access to a non-profit tax number through their troop or chartered organization, Northwest Scouters is able to provide "tax deduction receipts" for approved Eagle Scout Service Projects.
As a federally recognized non-profit organization, Northwest Scouters can provide assistance to Eagle Scout Service Projects by:
