Come have fun with us at the Sammamish Trails Pinewood Derby!

Racing starts at 10:00am

Northwest Scouters is pleased to sponsor the fifth annual Sammamish Trails Pinewood Derby races.  Everyone had an outstanding time at last year's event and this year we are set to have very exciting and fun filled day for the Cub Scouts and their families.  Come join us and watch the racing action!

Kirkland Chrysler Jeep is this year's host for the races.  They are located at 112828 NE 124th Street, Kirkland, WA. (This is in Totem Lake East of 405 on 124th Street)

Every pack in Sammamish Trails is invited to send the top two racers from each Cub Scout rank (Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos).  Trophies will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners of each Cub Scout rank class (Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos).  The winners of each class will compete in the Championship race and the first, second, third and forth place winners of the Championship will be presented with medals.

All Cub Scouts that participate in the Pinewood Derby Races will be entered into drawings held during each group of Cub Scout racing for door prizes.  Refreshments will be served.

For those parents and siblings that would like to get in on the racing fun we will have Open Class racing after the Cub Scout Championship races.  (All cars are to follow the Cub Scout Rules)

Cheer on the local businesses as they compete against each other between the Cub Scout races! They will be building cars with the same rules the Cub Scouts use.

All Pack's must email a list of the scouts names, their rank, and phone number, that will be racing at this years District Pinewood Derby to st-derby@nwscouters.org no later than April 20th.

All Cub Scout and Open class pinewood derby cars must be built following the Official NWScouters "Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Rules" downloadable at the bottom of this page.

Overweight cars will NOT be allowed to race in any competition!

Business Pinewood Derby

Local businesses will be competing against each other in their own pinewood derby races.  Their races will between the Cub Scout races and the Business Championship will be run prior to the District Championship races.  We have a beautiful "traveling" trophy that will be presented to the business with the fastest car.  They will be able to show off the trophy until next years races when they will need to compete to try to win it back for another year.

All business pinewood derby cars must be built following the Official NWScouters "2004 Business Pinewood Derby Rules" downloadable at the bottom of this page.

To sign up your business as a participant in the Pinewood Derby please fill out this electronic sign-up form or contact one of our board members.

Registration / Inspection:
All Business Class Pinewood derby cars will register and be inspected from 9:00am - 9:50am.  Please register early so we can start the races on time.

Racing
Racing will begin at 10:15am following the Tiger Cub races.  We will run a couple of business heat races following each Cub Scout class.  The Championship race will be held after all the Cub Scout classes have been run.

Business Class Championship Race
The winner of the Business Class Championship Race will be presented with the Championship Trophy to display at their business until the following years Business Pinewood Derby.
